This superfruit is packed with so many nutrients, it would take more than a blog post to cover them all, but we will definitely cover some!

I feel like I love this fruit even more because this is the tree that elephants receive their nutrients from. So, the cool connection between these two beautiful creations is that elephants eat the fruit and hydrate from the baobab tree and help to populate the baobab tree by dropping the seeds elsewhere for planting and harvesting. What baobab does for the body is incredible from high doses of vitamins like vitamin c to providing aid in better digestion.

Here are some benefits:

  • Boosts the immune system.

  • Sustains energy by having a slow-release effect to the body.

  • Supports blood sugar levels.

  • Great source of potassium and iron.

  • A rich source of fibre which helps with the digestion process.

  • Boosts collagen production and gives radiant skin.

Baobab powder is a polyphenol powerhouse. A single helping includes 6 times more polyphenols than found in berries—these phytonutrients protect all our tissues from oxidative stress and help the body reduce chronic inflammation. As we know, the less inflammation that is in our body- the better we can absorb necessary nutrients and remove unnecessary substances from the body.

The nutritional benefits are endless, and it tastes delicious in a smoothie, as a tea or even in yogurts. If you are able to get your hands on the dried fruit, that is a true treat. It is also available in a capsule form and for topical use, there is a baobab oil that is also available.

Incredible benefits, great taste and definitely worth exploring.
